So, what do you do when aliens attack and you’re the only one there to save the world? You make an awesome short film about an alien invasion of course ๐
Me and my dad love making shorts. They’re fast, funny, keep us entertained, and there is never a shortage of new, cool ideas for even more in the future. And, of course, when it comes to aliens, everyone loves when the good guys win.
Dealing With An Alien Invasion
Now nobody wants to do battle with aliens, but when a UFO fires at you with an laser blaster in an unprovoked attack, you can pretty much assume that they’re not just dropping in for coffee and doughnuts. Your home planet is being invaded.
And negotiating with beings from another world who think it’s acceptable to fire Alien Slime lasers at random passers-by is futile too I’d imagine.

They are here for one reason and one reason only, DOMINATION. And in a war of the worlds style moment, your only option for survival is defence mode 1. You, all your friends, your home planet, and your galaxy depend on you having what it takes to break these intergalactic marauders and send them packing.
The Magic Of Short Film
Short films, or just shorts, are amazing to create for both kids and adults alike and are a great way to spend some family time together. There is no need for a leading storyline or a long drawn-out plot to complicate the fun. It’s simply all about the fun factor.
If you want to make short movies, all you need is a camera and a good idea. Your creativity and imagination will take care of the rest.
One day, we would love to find more time to dedicate to making short movies of all flavours – as long as they’re fun to make and fun to watch we don’t really care what the plot is.
At the moment though, my dad works and I have school (which always comes first) so we can only film when we can. Boo hoo… Maybe one day ๐
Film Festivals For Short Movies
If you decide to grab your iPhone and your directors chair and start filming, The Glasgow Film Festival and The London Film Festival would be 2 great places to submit your project and make some new friends.
They’re awesome places to win some recognition for your work here in the UK.
Short films can be about anything too and are limited only by your imagination. It just turns out that our first movie was about aliens – which are very cool btw – but it could’ve been about anything else and that would’ve been fine.
What About The Aliens?
BTW, I actually like aliens so there were no hard feelings about shooting down any of their flying saucers. Also, no aliens were harmed in the making of this video ๐ฝ
We adhered to NASA Guidelines for alien life.

Anyway, this could possibly be one of the funniest things we’ve ever done ๐ We had amazing fun making this short film and it’s a great learning experience for kids. I hope you had as much fun watching it.
We’ve got lots of cool ideas for the future, follow me on Instagram as we post our new short movies there first.

Can’t wait to see you there,
