So, here it is. Our family pizza night went a bit wild when we decided to make our own homemade pizza from scratch.

The recipes are really easy, delicious, and perfect for kids and adults alike so if you go ahead and make your own homemade pizza, don’t forget to let us know how it turned out and what your favourite toppings are.

Our Pizza Toppings

We bought lots of different toppings as we didn’t know what we wanted to do yet. I love pepperoni and my mummy loves spicy chicken so we decided to just go ahead and buy everything. My dad – well, my dad will just eat anything.

We bought…

  • Mild Cheddar Cheese
  • Mature Cheddar Cheese
  • Creamy Mozzarella Cheese
  • Spanish Chorizo
  • Sweet Chilli Chicken
  • Shredded Roasted Ham
  • Turkey Breast Chunks
  • Smoked Bacon Bits
  • Chicken Breast Chunks

All of these pizza toppings including our we bought at our local Asda supermarket but of course you can buy whatever toppings you like.

That’s the wonderful thing about , you’re only limited by your imagination.

We Made FOUR Pizzas – Getting Started

Before you start, as well as buying your pizza toppings, you’ll also need a pizza bread base and some tinned tomato puree as your tomato base.

For our pizza bread base, we used Napolini Pizza Bases and store bought tinned tomato puree for our tomato base which was really cheap.

#1 – Pepperoni & Cheese Pizza Recipe

I made our first DIY pizza and decided to go with an easy, yet tasty, pepperoni and cheese topping to see how it worked out.

To Make This Pizza I Used

  • 1 x Pizza Base
  • 2 Scoops Tomato Puree
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • 10 Slices Of Pepperoni

First, my mummy removed one of the pizza bases from its packaging and placed it on a cutting board. Then she opened a tin of tomato puree.

We used a dessert spoon and scooped out two large spoonfuls of the tomato base and using the back of the spoon, I spread it over the pizza base making sure to cover it completely.

It looked delicious already but it was far from finished.

I took a handful of mozzarella cheese and covered the pizza till it looked like there was enough on then I grabbed the pepperoni and began placing the slices where I wanted them. I used 10 slices in total which was enough for this size of pizza and then topped it all off with even more mozzarella cheese.

It was now ready for the oven.

Of course, we still had 3 more pizzas to make so we simply placed it to the side so we could finish the others and put them all in the oven at the same time.

#2 – Spicy Meat Feast Pizza Recipe

My mummy made pizza number 2 and decided to go with a spicy meat feast topping.

To Make This Pizza We Used

  • 1 x Pizza Base
  • 2 Scoops Tomato Puree
  • Mature Cheddar
  • Spanish Chorizo
  • Sweet Chilli Chicken Chunks
  • Shredded Roasted Ham
  • Turkey Breast Chunks
  • Mozzarella Cheese

After smothering the pizza base in tomato puree like before, we placed 4 slices of Spanish Chorizo on top.

If you don’t already know, Spanish Chorizo is just like pepperoni only the slices are larger and it’s really, really spicy.

Then we took some of the sweet chilli chicken chunks and placed them over the pizza too.

After this, mummy decided on some shredded roasted ham which she kinda just scattered between the chicken chunks followed by some turkey breast chunks and topped it all off with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese.

The amount of cheese and toppings you put on your homemade pizza is entirely up to you. Remember, it’s all about just having fun and experimenting.

And just like that, pizza number 2 was also ready for the oven.

#3 – 3 Cheese Pizza With Pepperoni Recipe

With pizza #2 good to go, it was my turn again to make pizza #3. As I love pepperoni so much I decided to go with a delicious 3 cheese pizza with extra pepperoni.

Also, I don’t really like spicy stuff on my pizza so I didn’t really care too much for the other toppings we bought.

To Make This Pizza I Used

  • 1 x Pizza Base
  • 2 Scoops Tomato Puree
  • Mild Cheddar
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Mature Cheddar
  • 10 Slices Of Pepperoni
  • Even More Mild Cheddar

Like the first two pizzas, I got myself a fresh pizza base and gave it lashings of tomato puree making sure to cover it completely.

Then, I emptied half a bowl of mild cheddar over the top and spread it around the pizza using my finger tips.

Then it was time for a tasty portion of mozzarella cheese which I also emptied over the top and spread it around in much the same way – making sure it was spread evenly over the pizza.

As this was a 3 CHEESE PIZZA, there was always going to be room for some mature cheddar which is really tasty. I kinda just dumped a good portion of mature cheddar over the top of the first 2 cheeses and again, spread it around evenly until it looked just right.

With another 10 slices of delicious pepperoni, I kind of just placed them wherever they landed. There isn’t really a right way or a wrong way of making a pizza at home so just have fun and enjoy yourself.

With a little mild cheddar left in the bag I thought, yes, let’s have that too so we topped it all off with some more mild cheddar and just like that, this one was ready for the oven too.

#4 – Fully Loaded Pizza With Everything Recipe

Ok, this is where things got a little bit crazy. We were down to our last pizza base and still had quite a few toppings left so like any crazy family with leftover pizza toppings what did we do? We made a monster.

Fully Loaded Pizza With Extra Everything

Pizza #4 was fully loaded with EVERYTHING we had except the sweet chilli chicken because my mummy liked it so much, she had already eaten it all.

To Make This Pizza We Used

  • 1 x Pizza Base
  • 2 Scoops Tomato Puree
  • Mild Cheddar
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Turkey Breast Chunks
  • Chicken Breast Chunks
  • Smoked Bacon Bits
  • Shredded Roasted Ham
  • Spanish Chorizo
  • Pepperoni
  • Mature Cheddar

After covering the last pizza base with the last of our tomato puree, we spread a generous amount of mild cheddar over the top.

Then I took a few handfuls of mozzarella cheese from the bag and spread that over the pizza till it looked about right.

We hadn’t used any of the turkey or the chicken breast chunks yet so we decided that now was the time. We took a few handfuls of both the turkey and chicken chunks and spread them around pretty liberally before reaching for our bacon bits.

The smoked bacon bits were so tasty straight from the pack, not all of them made it onto the pizza but we did spread an even layer over the top. And then, as if this pile of toppings wasn’t getting big enough already, mummy breaks out the shredded roasted ham which then just got sprinkled on top of everything else.

Ok, at this point we have mild cheddar, mozzarella, turkey breast chunks, chicken chunks, bacon bits AND shredded roasted ham. What else can we possibly fit onto this pizza?

Spanish chorizo of course followed by the last of the pepperoni.

With 5 slices of spanish chorizo and the last 7 slices of pepperoni, we thought we had better call it a day and just top it off with some more mature cheddar. We could have kept going but a) who could even eat that? And b) will it even fit in an oven?

Home made pizza #4 was finally done and it was time to place them all in the oven to cook.

We couldn’t wait to see what they all tasted like.

How To Cook Your Homemade Pizza

Making pizza at home is all great fun till somebody realises we don’t know how to cook them.

My mummy took a wild guess and decided they should go in the oven at 180°C which is 356°F for around 15 minutes, or at least until they look cooked.

Luckily, it turns out she guessed perfectly but just to be sure we also to confirm it. Baking in the oven at 180°C/356°F for 15 minutes turned the cheese a beautiful golden brown and the pizza base was properly baked through. They looked and smelled absolutely amazing too.

Making Pizza At Home

Making your very own pizza at home is an awesome way to learn how to cook with mum and dad and a great way to spend some family time indoors.

Lenzie Eating 3 Cheese And Pepperoni Pizza

We were originally going to use the recipe from the website but honestly, it seemed so straightforward we thought we’d just give it a bash using our imagination.

Also, making your own homemade pizza means you have all sorts of whacky toppings to choose from. You can literally put anything you like on a pizza and the crazier the better.

It’s all about having good fun and although not all pizzas will taste great (think marshmallow and peanut butter), some will and they will be very special pizzas indeed.

They Were ALL Delicious

We didn’t bother measuring weights or paying attention to how much of each topping we were piling on. It was all about just having fun in the kitchen so we just kept choosing toppings until it looked just right.

Family Pizza Night At The Dining Table

Despite that, they were all truly fabulous and, even though I didn’t try any of the spicy ones my mummy made, my dad really enjoyed them so they must have been really good.

My favourite pizza to make was definitely my 3 cheese with extra pepperoni. Even though we just had fun throwing on the toppings, it was so cheesy and stringy it was probably the best pizza I ever tried. Really, I’m sure it was.

Things To Remember When Making Your Own Pizza

The most important thing is to always get an adult to help. 180°C/356°F is HOT and you don’t want to get burned whilst trying to put pizzas in or take them out of an oven by yourself.

If my mummy and daddy weren’t there to help, I would never try making my own pizza.

Making a pizza from scratch is so much fun and really easy too. If you decide to make your own pizza, let me know what toppings you used and how it turned out.
